The global energy transition is accelerating, and Australia is emerging as one of the hottest markets for renewable investments. On August 28, 2025, TagEnergy made a decisive move in this landscape by acquiring ACE Power, a Sydney-based renewable energy developer. While the deal value remains undisclosed, the acquisition significantly strengthens TagEnergy’s position in the Australian market and underlines its ambitions to become a leading national independent power producer.

ACE Power, founded in 2021, has quickly built a reputation as a dynamic player in wind, solar, and battery storage development. Operating across New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, South Australia, and Western Australia, the company specializes in early-stage project origination while keeping long-term ownership in sight. Its active collaboration with local communities has helped it deliver over 1.6 GW of operational renewable capacity in just a few years. By bringing ACE Power under its umbrella, TagEnergy now holds an impressive 10 GW pipeline of renewable energy projects that will play a key role in supporting Australia’s clean energy goals.

The integration of ACE Power’s portfolio adds scale and diversity to TagEnergy’s existing assets. The pipeline includes around 6 GW of wind, solar, and storage developments, many of which are strategically located for grid connectivity and high renewable resource potential. Standout projects include the 1000 MW/4000 MWh Eastern Hub Firming BESS in New South Wales, with a projected CAPEX of AU$1.6 billion, the 500 MW/2000 MWh Raglan BESS in Queensland, and the 450 MW/1800 MWh Talbingo BESS. In addition, the portfolio features the Hillview Energy Hub—a hybrid project combining wind, solar, and large-scale battery storage—highlighting the shift toward integrated solutions that ensure reliability in the National Electricity Market (NEM).

For TagEnergy, the acquisition is more than an expansion—it is a step toward redefining energy supply in Australia. By leveraging ACE Power’s merchant market projects, the company aims to deliver grid stability, renewable firming, and energy arbitrage services. With this move, TagEnergy strengthens its long-term strategy to offer value-added electricity products that go beyond generation, positioning itself as a trusted partner in the country’s journey to net-zero emissions. For stakeholders and communities, this means cleaner, more reliable power and enhanced investment in regional development.

The acquisition of ACE Power marks a milestone in Australia’s renewable energy story and showcases TagEnergy’s confidence in the nation’s clean energy future. As these projects progress, they will not only reshape the energy mix but also open opportunities for collaboration and innovation across the sector.
