In a major stride towards Australia’s clean energy transition, Greenleaf Renewables has announced its full ownership of the Stony Creek Wind Farm project in Queensland after acquiring the remaining 50% stake from Enerfin. The move marks a strategic milestone, underscoring Greenleaf’s long-term commitment to renewable development and regional collaboration. This acquisition not only boosts their project portfolio but also reinforces their dedication to sustainable growth, community engagement, and energy innovation across regional Australia.

The Stony Creek Wind Farm, initiated in 2022, has been a flagship project for Greenleaf Renewables. The reacquisition signifies more than just an ownership shift—it’s a reaffirmation of their mission to drive regional energy transformation. With a capacity of 195 MW and 27 turbines, the project will generate clean energy for approximately 100,000 homes annually. Valued at nearly A$400 million, it represents a significant contribution to Queensland’s renewable energy landscape. Importantly, the project aligns with Greenleaf’s principle of responsible development, ensuring that growth benefits both the environment and local communities.

Greenleaf’s approach to regional development goes beyond infrastructure—it’s deeply rooted in community collaboration. The Stony Creek project has already demonstrated this through over 20 successful local initiatives funded via its Small Grants and Sponsorship Program. With full ownership, Greenleaf can now accelerate these community partnerships, offering more opportunities for local employment, skill development, and economic participation. As the company prepares for the next stage of development, its focus remains on transparent stakeholder engagement and sustainable project delivery—ensuring every phase strengthens community trust and resilience.

Construction for Stony Creek is slated to begin in late 2026, following grid connection approval in early 2026. Once complete, the project will feed power directly into the National Electricity Market, advancing Australia’s renewable energy targets and reducing reliance on fossil fuels. Moreover, the inclusion of a 20 km transmission line to link the wind farm to the Powerlink network enhances regional grid capacity—supporting broader energy access and reliability. Greenleaf’s renewed control ensures a cohesive, future-focused strategy where sustainability and profitability go hand in hand.

Greenleaf Renewables’ full ownership of the Stony Creek Wind Farm marks a bold move toward a greener, more inclusive energy future. As the company continues to strengthen its renewable energy portfolio, it sets a benchmark for responsible investment and local empowerment in the Australian energy landscape.
