Encavis AG has taken another decisive step in expanding its European renewables footprint by acquiring the 41 MW Vallee de Joie wind farm in France from Enertrag. Announced on December 4, 2025, this strategic acquisition reinforces Encavis’ commitment to driving clean energy growth across Europe, especially in key markets like France. Let’s explore the project highlights, its impact on the company’s portfolio, and what this means for the future of wind energy in the region.

With the acquisition of the Vallee de Joie wind farm, Encavis elevates its total wind capacity in France to 250 MW. While the transaction value remains undisclosed, the strategic move reflects the company’s broader ambition to diversify its renewable assets across Europe. This deal underscores the importance of long-term vision, as both Encavis and Enertrag stress the need for lasting partnerships and professional execution in delivering projects aligned with Europe’s accelerating energy transition. By investing in markets with stable regulatory frameworks like France, Encavis positions itself to tap into reliable growth while supporting regional decarbonization goals.

The Vallee de Joie project is situated in the municipality of Mezieres-sur-Oise in the Aisne department, approximately 100 km south of Lille. The wind farm features a mix of six Nordex N163 turbines and one Nordex N149 turbine, combining to deliver a total planned capacity of 41 MW. Once operational, it is expected to generate around 98 GWh of electricity annually—enough to power tens of thousands of households. The project is currently under construction and is scheduled to connect to the grid by the end of 2026, contributing to France’s national renewable energy targets.

What makes this acquisition even more attractive is the stable revenue model. The electricity generated by the wind farm will be sold under a 20-year feed-in tariff (FiT) contract, providing Encavis with predictable long-term cash flows. Such guaranteed income streams are crucial for ensuring return on investment and supporting future expansion. With the addition of this project, Encavis not only scales its operational capacity but also solidifies its reputation as a dependable player in Europe’s renewable energy ecosystem.

Encavis’ acquisition of the Vallee de Joie wind farm reflects more than just growth—it represents a strategic bet on stability, sustainability, and market relevance. As the company continues to strengthen its presence across Europe, projects like this play a vital role in shaping a resilient, low-carbon future.
