Dispatch Energy announced on November 12, 2025, that it has acquired Green Lantern Solar (GLS), a leading community and commercial solar developer in the United States. This acquisition marks a major leap forward for Dispatch, positioning the company as a national player in the distributed solar and storage market. With more than 64 projects totaling 208.9 MWdc included in the deal, Dispatch is set to accelerate its clean energy growth strategy across nine U.S. states.
Founded in 2024, Dispatch Energy has rapidly emerged as a force in the distributed generation space, supported by a $360 million capital raise earlier in 2025. The acquisition of Green Lantern Solar represents a pivotal step in that expansion. By integrating GLS’s portfolio of community and commercial solar projects — alongside its operations and maintenance business — Dispatch gains an immediate foothold in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Midwest markets. The transaction broadens Dispatch’s operational reach into nine states including Georgia, Maryland, New York, and Vermont, significantly enhancing its presence in the U.S. clean energy landscape.
Green Lantern Solar brings with it a track record of excellence in community and C&I solar development. With more than 115 completed solar and storage projects, GLS has partnered with 55 towns and 60 schools to deliver localized renewable energy solutions. Its portfolio — spanning 64 projects totaling 208.9 MWdc — serves municipalities, schools, and private-sector clients through installations ranging from 150 kW to 6.7 MW. Many of these projects are located in Vermont and emphasize brownfield redevelopment and community partnerships, aligning closely with Dispatch’s mission to empower local energy independence and sustainability. Through the acquisition, Dispatch also inherits GLS’s expertise in long-term asset ownership and management, reinforcing its integrated clean energy capabilities.
Green Lantern Solar’s project model — anchored in virtual net metering and community solar frameworks — has delivered tangible benefits to local stakeholders. Projects like the 500 kW Weathersfield array in Vermont generate roughly $150,000 in annual credits shared among local schools, retirement communities, and municipalities, while the Twin Valley Elementary School array offsets utility bills through net metering credits. By acquiring GLS, Dispatch Energy is not only scaling its project portfolio but also amplifying the community impact of its renewable assets. With these projects feeding into the national grid and offsetting local energy costs, Dispatch reinforces its role as both a clean energy developer and a community partner committed to sustainable growth.
The acquisition of Green Lantern Solar cements Dispatch Energy’s position as a major player in the U.S. distributed solar generation market. Combining Dispatch’s financial strength and growth vision with GLS’s community-driven expertise creates a powerful platform for accelerating renewable deployment nationwide. As Dispatch continues to expand its solar and battery storage footprint, the company stands poised to deliver cleaner power, stronger local economies, and a more resilient energy future for America.
