RTB Hybrid Assets Pull Buyers Into Lithuania Renewable Energy M&A

3 min read

E energija group has divested two ready-to-build renewable energy projects in Kaunas County to Energix Lithuania UAB, a subsidiary of Tel Aviv-listed Energix – Renewable Energies. The portfolio includes a hybrid solar, wind and BESS project of up to 120.2 MW, plus a standalone 43.2 MW wind farm. Both assets reached full RTB status before closing, with construction permits, land rights and grid connection secured.

The signal is clear: Lithuania renewable energy M&A is shifting toward de-risked projects that can move quickly into construction. Energix did not acquire early-stage optionality. It acquired execution-ready capacity with hybrid flexibility and grid certainty.

This mirrors broader European buyer behavior. Investors are prioritizing grid-connected BESS, solar-plus-storage and shovel-ready portfolios as permitting delays and grid congestion reduce appetite for speculative pipelines. Enerdatics’ Q3 2025 analysis notes that European BESS M&A rose 120% year-on-year, with investors targeting advanced-stage projects across the UK, Germany and Italy.

E energija’s continued role under a development services agreement also matters. Buyers are paying for continuity, not just megawatts. Seller involvement through construction helps reduce delivery risk, especially for hybrid assets combining solar, wind and storage.

This deal shows that quality projects still find buyers. But in today’s market, quality means RTB status, secured grid access and credible execution support.
