Power Capital Renewable Energy (PCRE), a leading independent power producer in Ireland, has secured a financing facility of up to $381.2 million from Eiffel Investment Group to support the refinancing and development of its renewable energy portfolio. The deal underscores the growing investor confidence in Ireland’s clean energy sector and positions PCRE to accelerate its ambitious build-out of solar and storage projects.
The financing facility, structured as a bond listed on the Vienna Stock Exchange, closed an initial tranche of $198.2 million, with the remainder available to scale future growth. Eiffel Investment Group acted as lead investor, complementing Power Capital’s recently announced strategic equity partnerships with Infranity and Omnes. This mix of debt and equity provides PCRE with a robust platform to expand both domestically and internationally.
Proceeds from the transaction will be used to refinance existing debt from 2023 and 2024, tied to 230 MW of operational renewable assets, and to complete the development of 330 MW of solar PV and battery energy storage (BESS) projects scheduled for delivery in Ireland by early 2026. This financing also supports PCRE’s long-term goal of establishing itself as one of Europe’s leading integrated solar and storage platforms.
Founded in Ireland, Power Capital Renewable Energy has rapidly scaled its presence in the solar and storage market. The company currently operates 230 MW of solar PV capacity, with an additional 330 MW under construction, and an ambitious pipeline exceeding 5 GW. Through long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs) with global technology leaders such as Microsoft and Google, PCRE has secured stable, contracted revenues while contributing to the decarbonization of energy-intensive industries. By 2030, the company aims to reach 5.6 GW of operational assets across solar PV and BESS globally.
On this transaction, Akereos Capital acted as financial adviser to Power Capital Renewable Energy. The deal highlights the increasing role of institutional investors and bond financing structures in scaling renewable energy infrastructure in Europe, particularly in markets like Ireland that are rapidly transitioning to low-carbon energy systems.
With strong financial backing, strategic partnerships, and a world-class project pipeline, Power Capital Renewable Energy is well positioned to drive forward Ireland’s clean energy transition while expanding its international footprint.
